5 Crucial Details to Know About Your New Website

Pixel Dreams - 5 Crucial Details to Know About Your New Website We had a client walk into our studio looking for answers. The client had just purchased a "website package" which promised to take care of everything. Sounded great – until this person realised that the domain was now owned by the web developing company! After hearing what this person had to say, I remembered that not everyone is Internet savvy. It still surprises me, though it shouldn't, how many people don't know about the basics of purchasing a new website. Without going into the intricacies and all the billions of options, there are a few simple details that you must consider when purchasing a new site.

30,000 Visitors a Month is Music to My Ears

PureGrainAudio.com I'm not a huge fan of thundering hard rock but I am definitely a huge fan of thundering website traffic. Chris Gonda is an old friend from university and also a successful Internet marketing entrepreneur. Chris has created a powerful web presence with his online magazine PureGrainAudio.com. Like many in the online world, he started out with a limited viewership of friends and family only to work up to a whopping 30,000 visitors a month. We interviewed Chris to get insights (and advice!) on what a successful web domain is all about.

Wine, Cream and Branding

OrganicaPure Pixel Dreams studio was the location for our first ever Ladies' Night on Oct 29. The theme was one of earthly indulgences, and what a pleasant evening it turned out to be. The ladies gathered in an intimate setting and enjoyed a fine selection of icewine, cheese, berries, chocolate truffles, and luscious samples from a new organic skincare line.

The event was one of the many extra things we love to do for our clients and friends. The opportunity arose when a client came to us for Brand Development of their new skincare products. We thought, 'what could be better than combining a branding exercise and mingling with our target market to truly bridge the gap?'

"When developing this new brand we decided to go in a direction that would satisfy women's sophisticated tastes for the lush and luxurious while positioning their lifestyle as health conscious and environmentally friendly," said creative director, Lannie Le.

A surprising amount of men, who couldn't resist a Ladies' Night, gushed over the maple syrup hand soap whose scents and texture were almost identical to the real thing. "I want this on my pancakes!" Exclaimed one proud male.

Pleased with the outcome of this branding exercise, we hope to curate similar events in the future, so let us know if you would like us to host your next intimate and brand-oriented focus group!

You're Invited to Pancake Friday

Pixel Dreams Pancake Fridays From time to time, we enjoy cooking for our partners, clients and especially our co-op students. We got them so used to having pancakes on Fridays that now they can't even start their days without making us the most delicious pancakes an employer could ask for. It's evil what we did, but I don't think anyone is complaining. We love them (the pancakes!) so much that we'd like to invite you and a friend to our studio for pancakes on Friday November 6th, 2009.

On The Menu:
Banana Chocolate Chip
Blueberry Strawberry
Peanut Butter Reece's Pieces

We'll be sending out e-vites next week!
