There are plenty of methods to employ when attracting visitors to your new website. These days you can no longer launch a website and wait for the people come to you. Much like how a new store wouldn’t simply open its doors and expect people to come in.

It takes something for people to find your site in the wild of the web. Given there are many methods to achieve great website traffic, choosing the techniques to generate visitors is almost a matter of personal preference. The methods your most comfortable with are often the one’s that will be most successful.

1) Guest Blogging – Don’t have time to maintain your own blog? Most people with blogs have problems keeping them up-to-date. Contact your favorite blogger and offer to write them an article or two. Ensure your bio appears at the end of your post with links to your new website. If this proves popular and not too time consuming offer to do more frequent guest blogs.

2) Inbound and Outbound Links – Not good at writing? Offer to trade links with sites in your niche. Reward your viewers by providing them with great link resources. These links should have great page rank, but more importantly enhance your visitors’ knowledge of the niche. Develop your own link exchange on your site. Have new sites comes to you asking to be included on your elite list. Remember not to go overboard though. You don’t want search engines to think you’re a link farm!

3) Social Media – When it comes to social media don’t try to choose them all. Instead become popular on one or three. Don’t shamelessly self promote. Instead engage. Actively take an interest in your social media web and you’ll discover that people will visit your website more often. They’ll start thinking about your brand. Best of all, they’ll promote you on their social media networks too.

4) Giveaways – It’s true people love free stuff. When giving something away, ensure you retain an email address. Giveaways are great at building newsletters lists. Your giveaway doesn’t have to be overly dramatic to draw attention. Offer a sample of your services or your company’s product.

5) SEO – Your site should be optimized for search engines. But has your SEO been reviewed lately? Keyword trends change. Ensure your site is using the most relevant keywords.
