The Slow Web Designer

It’s okay to take your time and let your website evolve slowly. When it comes to web development we often think that time isn’t on our side. We expect or demand immediate action. Racing to what we believe is the next big thing. Then if that doesn’t work (often with no benchmark set to determine success or failure), we the race to the next potential big idea.
Why not listen to Mick? He’s worth nearly half a billion U.S. dollars and attended London School of Economics. Despite what you’ve read or heard there’s no overnight internet success. There are successful marketing campaigns that draw huge attention to your company’s brand, but like all sales leads, they need to be followed up. A slowly evolving site continues to ride the wave of success long after the initial marketing push. Generating enough steam until your next big marketing push.
When you roll out your website in phases, clients will continue to comeback to see what new changes have taken place. Constant evolution keeps your website fresh. Like the never ending salad. Problem areas can easily be identified and resolved smoothly. The cliche about not throwing the baby out with the bathwater should be heeded more often by web developers. Time is on your website side when there’s a clear set of goals that your site is moving towards.
