Aside from our day to day viewings of Star Trek TNG, DS9, and Kirk series, our PD family also enjoys watching documentaries. This past month we had the pleasure of discovering three really cool documentaries that we thought we should share. Check out the following doc trailers.

This Film Is Not Yet Rated
Released in 2006, this documentary has been on my list of Gotta Watch Sometime, for quite some time now. This Film Is Not Yet Rated is an exciting adventure diving into the world of film, and the weird and mysterious system of rating. Without giving away too much, let me just say, the rating system for movies is one of the most bizarre and secretive systems yet. If you haven’t checked this doc out, make sure you do!
Special thanks to our friend Geoff Oakham for doing a great job promoting this doc; I finally checked this film off my list.

The Age of Stupid
Set in a environmentally devastated future (2055), The Age of Stupid looks back in time to present day humanity and wonders, ‘Why didn’t we save ourselves when we had the chance?’ The devastating result of our complacency, places an old man at the Global Archive Facility (containing what’s left of the human race) rummaging through footage from the early 21st century. The premise of the film is simple. Humanity had ample warnings and indicators to change its’ way, but failed to do so. Definitely a must see.

Exploring Life Extension
Brought to you by the Immortality Institute, this documentary looks into the realm of life extension and immortality. The film uncovers fascinating research pointing towards the endless possibilities of living longer and possibly indefinitely. Exploring Life Extension is not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s straight to the point without any hype, posing many questions about God, the universe, morality and mortality. Exactly what great documentary should.
Find out why University of Cambridge Gerontologist, Aubrey de Grey calls aging, “A barbaric phenomenon that should not be tolerated in polite society.”
